Monica Lerch is a NYC based Multimedia theater artist, particularly interested in performance Art, Puppetry, Dance, Devising, Physical Theater and circus.

Her work has been seen at The Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall, La Mama Experimental Theatre Club, St. Ann's warehouse, dixon place, The Tank Theater NYC,  Here Arts center, The Center at West Park, Incubator Arts, American Dance Institute and as a part of the  New york international fringe festival and Capitol Fringe Festival in washington DC.

Recent Credits include "The Paper Piece" Created by Rachael Shane at St Ann’s Warehouse PuppetLab, "Unfolding"   Directed by Margarita Blush, "Food for the gods" directed by Nehprii Amenii as part of the La Mama ETC 2018 Puppet Festival and a National tour of Stravinsky's "Firebird", Directed by Chris Green with Little Orchestra Society. Monica is currently creating a work of puppet theatre entitled "Otherworlds", which explores Meditation, collective Healing and Shamanic Journeying, and uses realistic Animal skeleton puppets. THis work has been awarded a jim Henson Foundation Workshop grant for 2020. 

 

when not performing, monica can be found doing Yoga,  Modeling for fine art Photographers, training in aerial arts, Ecstatically Dancing, flying with the NYC Acro Yoga community, building puppets and Masks, Meditating, Journaling, Stilt Walking for Parties and Events with 26Stars, and figure modeling for the NY Society of Illustrators and the School of Visual Arts. Monica Is a certified yoga instructor in Hatha yoga, Vinyasa FLow and Calligraphy Yoga techniques.
